Children & Teens

“Intergenerational ministries, with special attention on our kiddos & young adults"

Caravan

On Wednesday evenings during the school year our children in grades 1-6 enjoy learning about a wide variety of topics while earning badges in the Nazarene Scouting Program called “Caravan.” Our younger scouts, children ages 3-K, are in “Cricket Camp”. 1st and 2nd grades are the "Searchers". 3rd and 4th grades are our "Explorers" and our "Adventurers" are grades 5 - 6. The Caravan ministry exists to help elementary age children become more like Jesus by encouraging their growth in the four specific areas mentioned in Luke 2:52: mental (wisdom), physical (stature), spiritual (favor with God), and social (favor with men).

Cricket Church

Cricket Church is our children’s church program for nursery school and kindergarten children (3 years through kindergarten). It meets at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The children learn Bible stories, scriptural songs and spiritual truths to guide them in their lives. Cricket Church is under the direction of Mrs. Kristi.

Children's Church

Children's Church is a worship service for children in grades 1-5. It meets at 10:45 a.m. and is under the direction of Ms. Emily. Our kiddos learn to experience the joy of a worship service at their age level through worship songs, learning the principles of tithes and offerings, participating in Communion once a month, and learning Bible truths to help carry them on their Journey with Jesus.

Nursery

Our nursery is equipped and staffed for newborns through age 2. Parents and other volunteers help staff the nursery on a rotating basis providing everyone with an opportunity to attend services and other classes. Our nursery director is Ms. Emily.

Summer Camp

Each summer in July or August our children in grades 3 - 6 have the opportunity to spend a week with our New England District Camping Program. This week is jam packed with fun activities including swimming, bible studies, games, crafts, nature study, archery, and invaluable spiritual growth.

Sunday School

The cornerstone of our children’s program is our Sunday school. In Sunday school our children learn about who God is and His love for us through Bible stories. Sunday school is provided for all ages beginning at age 3 through grade 6.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, our Children’s Department holds a 4 or 5-day-long VBS! The students rotate with their class (typically by the grade they are entering in the fall) to Bible-based “stations” such as storytime, games, snacks, crafts, music, and other hands-on activities. It is so much fun & we would love to have new friends join us this next time!

Information and registration regarding our upcoming VBS!

Teens: Refine Youth Group

LFC has an active and vibrant teen ministry!

For more information please contact our Youth Director, Brendan through the Church Office at 978-453-1063.

Quizzing

In addition to Sunday school, teens have the opportunity to increase their Bible knowledge through Bible quizzing. Quizzing is an intensive Bible study on a selected book of the Bible.

The quizzing year runs from September through March (or April if we win at the District Quiz Finals).

Summer Camp

Teen camp is held in August (Jr. & Sr. High). The camps are held at different locations chosen by our New England District youth ministries and communicated to each church beginning in early spring. The camp is one week long (Monday to Saturday) and includes a variety of activities such as archery, volleyball, swimming, etc. Spiritual growth is the focus on daily morning and evening chapel meetings.

Winter Retreat

The teens have an opportunity to attend a weekend fall retreat that includes activities such as sports, games, hiking times of worship and lots & lots of time hanging out with friends!

Opportunities in Music

Our teens have several opportunities to use their musical talents including musicals, Christmas programs, small groups, as well as the Teen Worship Team.

Nazarene Youth Conference

Every four years our teens have the opportunity of a lifetime … to take part in Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC). "The purpose of Nazarene Youth Conference is to call this generation to a dynamic life in Christ by facilitating growth as disciples for Christian service in the following areas: Community, Prayer, Discovering God's Word, and Ministry." The next NYC will take place in July of 2023 with the location to be announced!

Service Events

The teens at LFC are service-oriented and have many opportunities over the year to be involved in helping others. In the past year, the LFC teens have been involved in Operation Christmas Child, Teen Fast for Missions, visited nursing homes, been involved in a Work & Witness project as well as many in-church ministry opportunities.

Spiritual Growth Opportunities

Sunday School meets every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. The curriculum is Bible-based and our purpose is to help our teens learn what the Bible has to say about God and what that means for our lives. Our Senior High class (grades 10-12) is taught by Tim Linton. In addition to Sunday School, our teens meet on Wednesday evenings for Bible study to focus on prayer and our need to be open before God.

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands. - Psalm 90:17
